Sponsor a scholarship
We have recently financed the Killearn-Regson Scholarship at Nkhande CDSS. The school identifies the best girl and boy in each year, and their fees are paid; these amount for 2017-18 to about £30, which would include some basic school materials. A previous awardee told Ken Allen that he would not have been able to continue his education but for the Scholarship.
Each year at the end of February, there is a major Jumble Sale in Killearn Kirk Hall. This raises up to £2000 for the work of the KMG. Many people in the Killearn are involved in helping to receive goods the Friday night before, check them, sort them, and price them for the sale. They also man the stalls, wearing the distinctive yellow t-shirts, on the Saturday.
